St. Petersburg is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Russia. St. Petersburg has a large collection of museums not to miss including the State Hermitage Museum which houses a huge collection of fine art. There is also the Peter & Paul Fortress which houses the royal family's remains. This fortress is an island fort with a cathedral and small museum dedicated to Russia's royal family.



An experience not miss is called White Nights in St. Petersburg. This is two weeks of festivities in late June celebrating the longest day of year where the sun never sets. There are celebrations all over the city with residents staying out until hours of the night enjoying daytime activities. Another popular experience is watching the drawbridges opening along the Neva River. This is considered a symphony of rhythm to allow the ships thru the busy city of St. Petersburg.
